The WRS was responsible for US offensive and defensive biological warfare research from 1942 to June 1944 when the War Department took over. They looked at a variety of pathogens and dissemination methods. They also focused on defense of the food and water supplies, prevention of epidemics, and control of public outburst should an attack occur. Discusses all aspects of the program, including conception, intelligence review, operations, a list of 26 WRS BW research projects at various Universities and organizations, finances, and etc. Importantly, provides letter code name key for various agents.
