Conclusions

Recent extreme budget cuts will impact public health and emergency preparedness. There is not enough workforce or hospital surge capacity to respond to public health emergencies. The US lacks an integrated biosurveillance system. Communities are not resilient. There are gaps in vaccine research, development, and manufacturing.
